Project History

The Urban Design Guidelines created for Baileys and Seven Corners were intended as a pilot to evaluate a number of best practices being developed by the County. A draft of the Guidelines was released for community review in late 2017. Over 150 citizens provided feedback on the draft via in-person meetings, public presentations, email, phone call, and an online survey.

As a result of this community feedback the document was revised in a number of ways:
The Guidelines were divided into two volumes to streamline the content and reduce the size of the Baileys Crossroads and Seven Corners document. Universally accepted best practices were included in a Volume I and recommendations specific to Baileys Crossroads and Seven Corners comprised a Volume II.
A chapter on character was removed.
More graphics were included in both Volume I and Volume II to clearly explain complex ideas.
Design strategies were updated.
